Slender: The Arrival is a video game developed and published by Parsec Productions and Blue Isle Studios as the sequel to the highly-popular Slender: The Eight Pages. It was released on Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X on March 26, 2013. Like its predecessor, the game is based on the Something Awful forums creation, the Slender Man.
The majority of the game takes place in abandoned areas (house, defunct mine, etc.), each with different objectives. Slender: The Arrival uses similar mechanics to its predecessor. The character is armed with a flashlight, which is critical due to the dark conditions of the game. The lack of defense forced the character to run whenever in danger. Slender Man often teleports offscreen to the player, but most of the time tries to catch you just by staying behind you. Once looking at the Slender Man, effects start to happen to the camera (static, blurred recording, color spots, etc.), obstructing your vision until you are out of range. The death screen is also different; while in the original the player saw a white background with his face, the one for Slender: The Arrival is black with a color inverted Slender Man.
