Installation

Extract the contents of "The.Elder.Scrolls.V.Skyrim.Creation.Kit.v1.6.89.0 folder" in the Skyrim root (main install) folder.
Mine is:

F:GamesSkyrim(must contain the TESV.exe file where you extract it)

or

== very very very long instructions ==

Extract the .rar file to your desktop,
you'll see a folder called "The.Elder.Scrolls.V.Skyrim.Creation.Kit.v1.6.89.0"
open the folder called "The.Elder.Scrolls.V.Skyrim.Creation.Kit.v1.6.89.0"
Select all files (CTRL+A)
Copy all files (CTRL+C)
Go to the skyrim root folder (the place where you installed skyrim)
(examples)
F:GamesSkyrim
D:Bethesda SoftworksSkyrim
You know you are in the right folder if it contains TESV.exe
Paste the content from the folder "The.Elder.Scrolls.V.Skyrim.Creation.Kit.v1 into the skyrim main install folder (the folder that contains TESV.exe) by right clicking and saying "paste" or by pressing CTRL+V
When a window pops up asking you if you wish to merge a folder with an existing folder say "YES"
When a window pops up asking you what to do say "COPY AND REPLACE"
Open the creation kit by double clicking CreationKit.exe (found in our skyrim main install folder where you just pasted all those files)

And with a little bit of luck it should work

== Attempting to load Dawnguard or Hearthfire crashes the Creation Kit ==
Edit SkyrimEditor.ini in the main Skyrim folder and find the value SResourceArchiveList2.
Add Dawnguard.bsa and/or HearthFires.bsa to the list of files
(e.g., SResourceArchiveList2=Skyrim - Shaders.bsa, Update.bsa, Dawnguard.bsa).

Uninstallation
=======================
Remove all associated files and folders.
