Description
The Adventures of Sir Lancelot 123 The Lady Lilith (23 Feb 1957) sample frame from video
In days of old, when knights were bold, valiant young Lancelot comes to Camelot to join King Arthur's Round Table. In each episode he rights a wrong or rescues a damsel in distress, accompanied by lots of swordplay, horseplay, and scenic backgrounds. Star William Russell would later become famous in Doctor Who as companion Ian Chesterton. In this episode, the Lady Lilith has been running the castle of Goodhue since it was left to her by the late Sir William, when she was 14 years old. But now Sir Liones petitions for a ruling at the court of King Arthur, quoting the law that no property can be inherited by a woman - which sets King Arthur a difficult choice to make. Unlike ITC's other 'Adventures of...' historicals like Robin Hood, half of the 30 episodes of The Adventures of Sir Lancelot were filmed in color, even though in 1957 they were only broadcast in black and white. This is the 7th of the 12 surviving color episodes. Note on audio/video quality: There is some slight background audio hiss throughout the episode, and the color flickers to black & white a couple of times.
