PLOT: The story for this episode begins at the end of SharpeΓÇÖs Challenge. Sharpe and Harper are on their way to Madras when they meet a baggage train of the East India Company travelling through hostile territory. Chitu, a legendary bandit in control of the area, strikes fear into the members of the party. When an attack occurs, Sharpe takes control, training the disorganized, rag-tag group of men to be proper soldiers and leading them three hundred miles to safety. Despite all these troubles, Sharpe still manages to find time for a little romance.
