Now, now, this is a fine place to come and be disgruntled - I excel at regruntling.

But there is probably a discussion due about this.\n

The old "Scene" AVI releases had a mandated 1024Kbps bit rate.\n

I am somewhat locked in to a lower (usually 768Kbps) bit rate. partly due to source bit rate and to compete on a somewhat even footing with MP4 file sizes.\n

But lately LOL, first with "Elementary" and now with "Sacndal" is doing very low MP4 bit rates. Most MP4 bitrates are between 800Kbps and 1024Kbps. This is fine by me, as I like to stay under the MP4 bitrate with my XVID bitrate.\n

But now LOL is dropping the bit rate for these two shows to a rediculos 600Kbps, which puts me in a bind just to stay lower than that. So aggravating, in fact that I've gove dual a couple of times. I encode from the well high enough bitrate of DIMENSION's MKV (usually 4000-5000Kbps) so I can offer my usual 768Kbps at 640c360.\n

But I also take the low MP4 600Kbps bitrate and createa a MINI whch is either 256K or 384K depending on my mood at 480x272. While rare that anyone actually asks for the MINI, tat someone has - I'll give it serious thought for next week.. More work, but I expect that to offer more choices.\n
