Saveros POU (August 24, 1929)- Suvarnacollection

Saveros POU is a Khmer linguist who produces a great amount of articles and books on Khmerology.
Born in a conservative milieu linked to the royal palace, Saveros Pou received a typical aristocratic education, the general aim of which was to prepare its subject to understand and ably govern the Khmer kingdom. In the field of Khmerology (q.v.), she studied ancient texts with the grate scholar George Coedes, and attended the Indo-Khmer philology seminar of Au Chhieng at the Ecole Pratigue des Hautes Etudes under whom she rediscovered both the rigidity and the virtue of a traditional Khmer grū (teacher).
