Saturday NIght Live -- NYC Mayor Ed Koch, The Rolling Stones (Size: 523.89 MB)
Description
SNL's 4th Season Premiere from October 1978.
Ed Koch, who was the Mayor of New York City at the time is the uncredited host, even though all he does is a monolog at the beginning and says goodnight at the end. The Rolling Stones perform some of their lesser material from the "Some Girls" album. Mick Jagger appears as himself on "The Tomorrow Show" with Dan Aykroyd again spoofing Tom Snyder. Ron Wood and Charlie Watts play patrons in the Olympia Restaurant sketch. Mayor Koch would return to SNL as the actual host (and in one case co-host) under the new regime of producer and cast a few times in the early 1980s. Jagger individually appeared as the musical guest several times in the years to come. Keith Richards also later turned up to perform during a period in the late 1980s when the Stones took a break from touring. Sharing Widget |
