Description
The podium protest of two Black American sprinters at the 1968 Olympic games in Mexico is a symbol of the civil rights struggle. This film fills out the story of the movements in the US, the background and politics of the two sprinters, the undocumented solidarity shown by the other medal winner in that race, and the repercussions that all three of them suffered for speaking out against racism and inequality. A brilliant film about actually heroic sports figures. silesia, 88 mins.
All of these films are left-wing, educational, inspiring and hard to find. So seed as much as you can and maybe you'll be helping others get active in similar struggles. Sharing WidgetTrailer |
