Rodrigo, Joaquín : Concierto madrigal for 2 Guitars
Rodrigo, Joaquín : Concierto andaluz for 4 Guitars and Orchestra MAYBE RODRIGO'S BEST WORKS These two "conciertos", are Joaquin Rodrigo's sort of forgotten masterpieces You have very likely never heard of these, very few are. At least compared to Aranjuez. Its a bit of mystery, considerig the level of works. If you search just Rodrigo, you get like Aranjues x 1000 and some Gentilhombers. It takes time and luck to hit this record accidentally. There were some elements of contract works in these. Some made by Rodrigo exclusively for Romero's UNIQUE CLASSICAL GUITAR MUSIC The reviews are correct. I would add also that "extremely beautiful, enjoyable music". which it really is. While such terms are not too common in more professional art music reviews. I cant imagine these disappointing anyone, should work very well also for classical music beginners. These are amateur (and non native English speakers) comments. But many educated minds are describing these better, like in enclosed reviews. ORIGINAL AT AMAZON If you like it, buy the original! its worth even for record pamphlet, which I didn't scanned here. Actually its a safe bet in any case. http://www.amazon.com/Rodrigo-Concerto-Madrigal-Andaluz/dp/B0000040VL ABT FORMATS - Main is full CD quality losseles WMA. - The more compact size is LAME downcoded MP3, VBR average 220 kbs, quite decent quality also. REVIEWS This review is from: Rodrigo: Concerto Madrigal; Andaluz The Romeros have long been considered the First Family of Classical Guitar; this album helps demonstrate why. Anyone who loves the classical guitar will love this collection of beautiful music for six strings (well, techically 24 strings; but who's counting?) This review is from: Rodrigo,,, As of big fan of Pepe Romero and Los Romeros, this is one of the best CDs ever made by them! Joaquin Rodrigo was so inspired by Los Romeros that he wrote this incredible music just for them. It's hard to find words to describe the music in this CD other than beautiful and perfect. I DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THIS CD - 5 star quality!! - member of the Pittsburgh Guitar Society of Fine Arts This review is from: Rodrigo... Rodrigo is probably best know for his Concerto de Aranjuez for solo guitar (which Pepe Romero has provided the definitive recording of), but he also wrote the magnificent Concerto Andaluz for four guitars and Concerto Madrigal for two guitars. The Madrigal is performed wonderfully by Pepe and Celin Romero. They share a strong musical bond and seem to feed musically off of each other throughout the concerto. The Andaluz is here in its definitive recording. It was recorded and premiered by the Romeros in the late 60's but Rodrigo later added a wonderful cadenza section to the second movement which adds to its great emotional and musical impact. All in all, a great CD that I highly recommend. Sharing Widget |
