Description



The 17th century saw the harpsichord established as a solo instrument. Though its ancestor the lute still figured into many aspects of its music, its additional complexity and brighter sound led to the first largescale collections of harpsichord works. The Italian States were in the vanguard of this change, and some of those results can be heard on this recording.

Transfers are made at 256 kBits/s, directly from the disc.
