ROBOTS DON'T SLEEP is a new project by Robert Koch, or as he is known by his stage name Robot Koch. The Berlin-based music producer has been interested in music since childhood. It were primarily the Motown albums of his mother that inspired him. Later he dove into Hardcore and Heavy Metal. This already shows that we deal here with a musician who feels at home not only in one genre. Added to this he learned to play the piano and drums. Early in his career he played in various metal bands, but they didn't play only traditional metal, they would also allow jazz, funk, noise-rock and death metal into their music. But when he came in contact with Hip Hop that raised his interest in electronic music and to perform as a DJ. He then released a number of albums with his first electronic band Jahcozzi from 2002 to 2010.

So now he presents us his first album called "Mirror" under the name ROBOTS DON'T SLEEP. And like the opener 'Trouble' he shows himself from his best side. In an impressive way he demonstrates how you can combine electronica with an earthy sound. From vocal point of view he reminds one a little of Chris Martin of Coldplay. The same gentle, yet always melodic powerful voice. And so we dive slowly into the album "Mirror" with songs like 'Do not wake me' or the title song 'Mirror' for the quiet hours. Here one has set the goal that less can often be more. Only with 'Satellite Falls' he dances on on the edge of kitsch. With 'Revese Rewind' the album ends just as it started, quiet and unobtrusive.

"Mirror" is an eargrower one of these inconspicuous yet interesting works. You can safely say that ROBOTS DON'T SLEEP will not storm the charts but when you are going to dig this album out again in a few years you will surely still like it.
