Reger: Quintet for clarinet in A Major, op. 146 [AIFF LOSSLESS] (Size: 328.9 MB)
DescriptionThe Quartet has a perfectly balanced, homogeneous cast and applies no coincidence as the "king class" of chamber music. What would happen now if there was added a clarinet? This meets a wind instrument added with very different registers. With them, it can emerge and be accompanied, but then all of a sudden plunge into vocal tissues and provide surprising tonal variety. The most significant works in this genre are from Mozart, Brahms and Reger, the later works refer respectively to their predecessors – a very interesting chain of works. Mozart's quintet had been recorded by Sharon Kam in 2010 as a companion piece to the concert with her colleagues Isabelle van Keulen, Ulrike-Anima Mathé, Volker Jacobsen and Gustav Rivinius. She deliberately didn’t want an existing quartet as a partner, and summoned befriended soloists. Like that a real quintet and not a "4 + 1" constellation was created. The harmony between them was great right away, and so they are giving concerts together repeatedly – Brahms and Reger being part of their repertoire. Sharing Widget |
