Description
"PVP ONLINE" Web Comic
"PvP Online" (pvponline.com) by Scott Kurtz chronicles the adventures of a fictional video game magazine company (which later became a video game publisher) and its employees. One of the oldest gaming-based Web comics, having premiered in 1998, "PvP" originally focused on video gaming and the larger "nerd culture" including comics and RPGs. Over the years, though, the humor broadened to include technology jokes, relationship humor, and jokes about and mocking of the generation gaps between the different characters, with gaming increasingly taking a back seat. Sometimes Kurtz will speak of his father's open disdain for the strip, and his father occasionally appears as a character in the strip (as does Kurtz himself), though never as part of an ongoing storyline. This torrent collects "PvP Online" comics from the strip's debut in 1998 through the end of 2014. The comics are compiled into a set of CBR files, one for each year. From late 2007 onward, each comic's page includes its date and title. (Prior to late 2007, Kurtz did not consistently give the comics individual titles.) Though the torrent does not include the "PvP" comic books, which mostly just reprinted comics which had already appeared online, a CBR file of extra material does include a few items from the comic books which do not appear in the online archive.
