SYNOPSIS:- Punyavati (1967) Telugu
Prakash (N.T.Rama Rao) a lecturer in a collage lives with his blind mother. He meets his a professor Krishna Rao(S.V.Ranga Rao) who lives with second wife Padmavathi (Bhanumathi), daughter Chitra (jyothy laxmi), son Shekar (Shoban babu) and his friend's daughter Shanta(krishnakumari). Padmavathi teaches her daughter about the modern way of life, and neglects her son shekar, who drinks to forget his mother's attitude. Chitra falls in love with Ramesh (Harinath) a womanizer and becomes pregnant, but Ramesh refuses to marry her. Chitra attempts suicide. Twist in the tale is Prakash is Professor Krishna Rao's first wife's son who is abandoned when professor was upset on knowing that his wife will becomes blind. How all the things end in a happy note is the rest of the film.

About the film:
The film has nothing new to tell. It goes in a predictable routine way. Only plus points of the film are the songs. iMtElE nirupEdala bratukulu , eMta sogasugaa unnaavu ilaa, pedavulapaina saMgeetaM , manasu paaDiMdi sannaayi paaTa are all time great hits.
The lead pair N.T.R and Krishnakumari has only one song and two hit songs are on Shoban and two other hit songs are on Harinath and Jyothy laxmi.

I think because Nirdhoshi flopped NTR gave dates to this film (by the same director).
