Well written with lots of photographs, this book provides a good overview of how prisoners of war from all sides were housed and treated during World War II. Particularly helpful are the side-bar human interest stories and insights on the reactions of prisoners to their circumstances. Many readers may not know of the role of German and Italian prisoners working in small towns, camps and on farms throughout the United States.
