PCSX2 V1.3.1 PS2 Emulator + Plugins, Bios [KVJ]  Description: PCSX2 is a free and open-source PlayStation 2 emulator for Windows, Linux and OS X and currently the only known Playstation 2 emulator capable of running commercial games. Compatibility: The current development version is reported to be compatible with around 94.27% of the currently 2,532 tested games. Compatibility only means that the game won't crash, lock up or enter a loop, so there can be bugs, missing post-processing effects, textures and shadows in many compatible games. This is especially the case in hardware mode, as many games require hacks to avoid bugs. If the bugs are impossible to work around, it is advised to use software mode, however software mode is almost always significantly slower. This is particularly the case in games that use mipmapping on textures, such as Ratchet & Clank and Jak and Daxter. Mipmapping is unimplemented in hardware mode, and there is currently no way to work around it except to use software mode. Hardware mode also does not have properly working texture cache. System Requirements: Minimum (most games will be unplayable slow) Windows/Linux OS CPU: Any that supports SSE2 (Pentium 4 and up, Athlon64 and up) GPU: Any that supports Pixel Shader model 2.0, except Nvidia FX series (broken SM2.0, too slow anyway) 512MB RAM (note Vista needs at least 2GB to run reliably) Recommended Windows Vista / Windows 7 (32bit or 64bit) with the latest DirectX CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo @ 3.2 GHz or better OR i3/i5/i7 @ 2,8 GHz or better OR AMD Phenom II @ 3,2 GHz or better GPU: 8800gt or better (for Direct3D10 support) RAM: 1GB on Linux/Windows XP, 2GB or more on Vista / Windows 7 Warning: Because of the nature of emulation, even if you meet the recommended requirements there will be games that will NOT run at full speed, due to emulation bugs or other limitations.
