It is track five from his 1980 album Blizzard of Ozz. Guitarist Randy Rhoads wrote the main riff to the song and bassist/lyricist Bob Daisley wrote the lyrics.Osbourne has said that the song is about the alcohol-related death of AC/DC's Bon Scott in 1980, but Daisley revealed in 2002 that he had Osbourne himself in mind when he composed the lyrics! A live version of the song from Osbourne's 1987 album Tribute is notable for an extended guitar solo midway through by guitarist Randy Rhoads. A very similar solo can be heard on the song "Laughing Gas" by Quiet Riot, the band Rhoads had founded in the 1970s. Rhoads had originally used the main guitar riff to Suicide Solution, which opens the song, in the verse of the Quiet Riot track "Force of Habit". Lyrics "Suicide Solution" Wine is fine, but whiskey's quicker Suicide is slow with liqueur Take a bottle, drown your sorrows Then it floods away tomorrows Away tomorrows Evil thoughts and evil doings Cold, alone you hang in ruins Thought that you'd escape the reaper You can't escape the master keeper 'Cos you feel life's unreal, and you're living a lie Such a shame, who's to blame, and you're wondering why Then you ask from your cask, is there life after birth What you saw can mean hell on this earth Hell on this earth Now you live inside a bottle The reaper's travelling at full throttle It's catching you, but you don't see The reaper's you, and the reaper is me Breaking laws, knocking doors But there's no one at home Made your bed, rest your head But you lie there and moan Where to hide, suicide is the only way out Don't you know what it's really about Wine is fine, but whiskey's quicker Suicide is slow with liqueur Take a bottle, drown your sorrows Then it floods away tomorrows[/b] Video: Frame Width: 540 Frame Height: 384 Data Rate: 2000kbps Total Bitrate: 2433kbps Frame Rate: 29 FPS Best viewed at 16:9 or "Fit to Window" in VLC Player with Equalizer OFF Audio: Track I Dolby Pro Logic II Bit Rate: 384kbps Channels 2(stereo) Audio Sample Rate: 48 khz Track 2 7.1 ch mix Bit Rate: 1536kbps Audio Sample Rate: 48 khz Sharing Widget |
