The Oxford Advanced Learner's Dictionary is the planet's bestselling dictionary for advanced learners, brought to you by the Oxford University Press. The first Oxford Advanced Learner's Dictionary was written around 70 years ago by A. S. Hornby, who lived in Japan and taught English. He was able to establish the Hornby Educational Trust from the money he made with the Oxford Advanced Learner's Dictionary.
