When a young drifter is forced to stay the winter in a small seaside town,
he inadvertently becomes the catalyst for deceit, double crossings and murder
amongst the locals.

Młody chłopak Pierre włóczy się po kraju w poszukiwaniu zarobku.
Trafiając do małego nadmorskiego kurortu nie podejrzewa nawet, że wkrótce jego
życie się odmieni. Nie mogąc znaleźć uczciwego zajęcia Pierre włamuje się do
mieszkania Harry'ego Barlowa. Robi to tak nieudolnie, że gospodarz przyłapuje go
na gorącym uczynku. Jednak zamiast wezwać policję Harry proponuje chłopakowi
pewien układ: "Ja nauczę cię kraść, a ty wykonasz dla mnie jeden skok." Pierre
zgadza się i rozpoczyna edukację. Egzamin, który go czeka okaże się wyjątkowo trudny.
