Het is 1883. De voormalige gunfighter Charley Waite werkt, evenals de
16-jarige Spanjaard Button en de kok Mose, nu als veedrijver voor Boss
Spearman, de oude leider die met een kudde vee door het land trekt. Wanneer
het viertal op een dag met hun vee langs het stadje Harmonville komt en
deze voor aankopen aandoen, worden ze bedreigd door de corrupte sheriff
Poole, die op de loonlijst staat van de invloedrijke grootgrondbezitter
Denton Baxter. Baxter moet niets hebben van veedrijvers. Wanneer Mose
gedood wordt en Button zwaar gewond raakt door de handlangers van Baxter,
worden Spearman en Waite gedwongen om actie te ondernemen. Het wordt
complex, wanneer Waite verliefd wordt op Sue Barlow, de attractieve zus
van de plaatselijke arts.

cattle across the vast prairies of the West, sharing a friendship forged by
a steadfast code of honor and living a life unencumbered by civilization.
When their wayward herd forces them near the small town of Harmonville, the
cowboys encounter a corrupt sheriff and kingpin rancher who govern the
territory through fear, tyranny and violence. Boss and Charley find
themselves inextricably drawn towards an inevitable showdown, as they are
forced to defend the freedom and values of a lifestyle that is all too
quickly vanishing. Amidst the turmoil, life suddenly takes an unexpected
turn for the loner Charley when he meets the beautiful and warm spirited
Sue Barlow, a woman who embraces both his heart and his soul.
