Description

To think a bad mastering job done at "Raw Power" levels couldn't ever be done again, that would be dead wrong with this album. This album was mastered with "Raw Power" in mind; or close to it I should say. When you look at these waveform pics, that fact turns out true, CD is the bottom, remaster is the top:

The CD version of the song shown, Tale of Haste, registers at a NASTY DR1!!!!
The same song with the remaster, in contrast, registers
at a perfect DR10!! Nine decibels of squashed dynamics were saved!


That is some truly wicked compression my friends. On the DR database, the comment for this CD read: "This is the worst sounding folk metal album in the world. Clipping, distortion, beware of it."

I agree 100% with whoever posted that. But with this remaster... the clipping is GONE! This remaster shows what folk metal should sound like. Enjoy!
