3. Important Notes and Known Issues

3.1 General Notes and Known Issues


- When running a RME Fireface UC sound card with 64 bit Windows, the
settings dialog will not been shown when hitting the appropriate
button in Traktor's audio setup panel.
Please use RME's settings dialog from the task bar instead.
- Scratch Duo: Please restart the Wizard to reactivate the Scratch
Panels if they won�t appear in layout called EXT. MIXER (SYNC) and
INT. MIXER(SCOPE)
- Windows: Since Traktor does automatically activate all available
Midi Output Ports your Midi events might trigger the internal
Midi Music Player. In that case please reconfigure the Output
Ports to the needed devices.
- Opening the Explorer Node (or adding tracks to collection from
itunes) might cause a sluggish behavior of Traktor since Traktor
needs to update all filetags which consumes processor power and
especially affect weak computers
- Since 1.0.2 introduces the newer NML version you can not import
collection files made in 1.0.2 back to earlier versions of
Traktor
- MAC OSX: OLD Traktor versions might not write the correct file
type information to NML files (such as collections etc.) =>
those are indicated by grayed out NML file in MAC file dialogs.
Resetting the file type to "NML" by using a file type editor
makes the file accessible again.
- To get the new TSI files (default settings and mappings) with
the latest update (1.0.1) automatically in your copied into
your userfolder you have to start the wizard.
- Open large folders from the browser tree might take a long time.
- If swapping input channels has no effect you may have reselect
one of the input channels again
- Dragging tracks to the end of a long listed playlist might not
work. If a playlist is reachable please use the fullsize browser
view or set a shortcurt of the playlist to the favorites and
drag the tracks there.
- Installing the Scratch Content after you have already installed
the application will not list the content in collection. In that
case you have to import the content manually from
the DVDSHAREDFactory Sounds
- Certain types of WAV file might cause an error message
- Traktor temporarily freezes when choosing the xone:4d ASIO
driver
- Sound might be gone after using QuickTime player with same
audio interface while Traktor is running
- Soundcard Settings: The Mac OS X build-in soundcard
is named as "Built-in Input x In, x Out"
- Tempo is not taken over when dublicating decks if target deck
is in absolute mode
- Mac OS X Filenames: using the character "/" and all characters
between ASCII 0x00 to 0x1F in filenames or folder names causes
the missing track message or empty folders on Mac computers.
- Mac: to enable usage of F1-F8 as hotkeys for TRAKTOR on
Mac you have to disable their default function as follows:
In System Preferences > Keyboard & Mouse > Keyboard: tick the
checkbox "Use the F1-F12 keys to control software features".
- Mac: to enable usage of F9-F10 as hotkeys for TRAKTOR
on Mac you have to disable their default function as follows:
In System Preferences > Keyboard & Mouse > Keyboard-Shortcuts:
scroll down to "Dock, Expos� and Dashboard" and de-select the
shortcuts associated to the F9 and F10 keys.
- Windows: when starting the application in full screen mode
without the connected audio interface it will start in mini-
mized view, showing up in the taskbar.
- iPod: when connecting your iPod, the symbol shows up in the
browser after all tracks on your iPod have been scanned - this
may take a few seconds.
- iPod: it is advisable to format your iPod as FAT32 when used
with TRAKTOR SCRATCH.
- Windows "N" versions: To enable WMA playback Windows Media
Player needs to be installed. The error message 'missing
wmvcore.dll' hints at a missing WMP installation.
- AAC/M4A files: To enable Traktor to playback non-DRM AAC and
M4A files iTunes or QuickTime need to be installed.
- Tapping tempo for improving the automatically detected BPM
will offer highest precision when used on previously analyzed
tracks. Results are less precise, when analyzing tracks on
demand with the option "Perform background analysis when loading
into deck".
- Duplicating Decks in Absolute Timecode mode requires additional
Sync for matching the tempo.
- Switching screen modes could cause audio drop-outs
- Changing the application path (MAC) during installation could
cause crashes
- Importing a gif-file for cover art might invert the colors
