Because there was an episode of MythBusters released last year titled as s15e01 but it was a typo and actually s14e01. The REAL in the name means this is the real s15e01.

Exactly. There is no one official guide for the series. TV.com also reads 13x01, but tvguide has it listed as a special without a season number. Futoncritic is claiming it's on season 17 while zap2it is posting this season as the 10th. It was probably labeled the way it is to follow what was already released in the past to avoid having to tag REAL so many times.
