Muse - 1999 - Showbiz (2015 HDtracks) [FLAC@96khz24bit] Muse Muse in 2010 Wikipedia: Muse are an English rock band from Teignmouth, Devon, formed in 1994. The band consists of Matt Bellamy (lead vocals, guitar, piano, keyboards), Chris Wolstenholme (bass guitar, backing vocals) and Dominic Howard (drums, percussion). Muse released their debut album, Showbiz, in 1999, showcasing an aggressive and melancholic alternative rock style. Their second album, Origin of Symmetry (2001), expanded their sound, combining Bellamy's falsetto, heavier riffs, wider instrumentation, and romantic classical influences. It earned them mainstream European success and a reputation for energetic live performances. Their third album, Absolution (2003), saw further classical influences, incorporating orchestra on tracks such as "Butterflies and Hurricanes", and brought American success, producing hit singles including "Time is Running Out". Muse's fourth album, Black Holes and Revelations (2006), incorporated electronic and pop elements, influenced by 1980s groups such as Depeche Mode, and produced successful singles such as "Supermassive Black Hole". The Resistance (2009) and The 2nd Law (2012) explore lyrical themes of government oppression and uprising and cemented Muse as one of the world's major stadium acts. Their seventh album, Drones (2015), is a concept album about drone warfare and returned to a harder rock sound. Muse have won numerous music awards, including five MTV Europe Music Awards, eight NME Awards, two Brit Awards, and two Grammy Awards, winning Best Rock Album for The Resistance and Drones. They have sold more than 20 million albums worldwide. Recorded between April and May at RAK Studios and Sawmills Studio, respectively, the album was produced by John Leckie and Paul Reeve in conjunction with the band. Showbiz was a moderate commercial success, reaching number 29 on the UK Albums Chart. Showbiz was released in various regions around the world through the band's different regional labels: Naïve in France; Motor in Germany, Russia, Turkey and Ukraine; Maverick in the United States; Play It Again Sam (PIAS) in Benelux; and Avex Trax in Japan. The album was also released earlier by some labels; in France it was released on 7 September, the Motor edition was sold from 20 September and the album entered American stores on 28 September. A bonus CD was released in Benelux, which contained the same content as the Random 1-8 extended play, without the hidden remixes of "Sunburn". AllMusic Review by Tom Demalon: The musical touchstone for the British trio Muse is obviously Radiohead and that fact is crystal clear from the smoldering opening cut, "Sunburn." Their John Leckie-produced debut, Showbiz, is strong on angst-filled vocals, esoteric lyrics, and dramatic shifts in sonic dynamics. Hailing from rural England, singer/guitarist Matthew Bellamy, bassist Chris Wolstenholme, and drummer Dominic Howard average 20 years of age, so there's plenty of potential for them to grow into a sound that is more of their own. In the meantime, Bellamy does an impressive job of aping the quirky, nervous vocal tic of Thom Yorke on songs like the mid-tempo, Mellotron-driven "Muscle Museum," and he cuts loose vocally on the soaring "Cave" and on the lovely, mournful ballad "Unintended." Showbiz hints at the potential in this young band, and it should be of interest to many Radiohead fans. 01 - Sunburn - 03:55 02 - Muscle Museum - 04:24 03 - Fillip - 04:02 04 - Falling Down - 04:34 05 - Cave - 04:47 06 - Showbiz - 05:18 07 - Unintended - 03:58 08 - Uno - 03:39 09 - Sober - 04:05 10 - Escape - 03:32 11 - Overdue - 02:27 12 - Hate This and I'll Love You - 05:10 13 - Spiral Static (Bonus Track) - 04:45 Personnel: Matthew Bellamy – vocals; lead and rhythm guitars; piano; Hammond organ on "Falling Down", "Unintended" and "Escape"; mellotron on "Muscle Museum" and "Unintended", Wurlitzer electric piano on "Fillip" and "Hate This & I'll Love You"; synthesizers on "Cave", guitar synthesizer on "Sober"; harmonium on "Escape"; string arrangements on "Showbiz" Christopher Wolstenholme – bass; backing vocals; double bass on "Falling Down" and "Unintended" Dominic Howard – drums; percussion on "Showbiz", "Uno" and "Hate This & I'll Love You"; synthesizer on "Muscle Museum" ♪♬♫ ENJOY! ♪♬♫ Sharing Widget |
