España, años 50. Montse (Macarena Gómez) ha perdido su juventud cuidando de su hermana pequeña, con la que vive en un siniestro piso del centro de Madrid. Tras la muerte de su madre, su padre (Luis Tosar) huyó cobardemente dejándolas solas. Montse padece agorafobia pero no lo sabe y se esconde de la vida, entre cuatro paredes, volviéndose cada vez más obsesiva y desequilibrada.
