Modesty Blaise, Willie Garvin, and the rest of the characters in the Modesty Blaise newspaper strips, were invented by the late Peter O'Donnell (1920-2010), who wrote all the comic strips and books. The late Peter Holdaway was the original artist on the strip, but Enrique Romero was the last artist, and did as many strips as all the other artists put together. The magazine Comics Revue was, for many years, the only reliable way for American readers to find strips they hadn't read. Titan Book started a line of high-quality reprints ("volume 1") which ran for a few years before ending after 8 issues. Years later they started a new line of Modesty Blaise compilations ("volume 2"), which began at the beginning and kept on going in order. These have slowed down their rate of publication, but I believe they're still in business; I'll tell you more next time. Sirius says, "I've been really negligent about doing new scans of the Modesty Blaise strips, books, and collections. Right now I have to go through my collection and put it in order so I can get back to work on it. There definitely will not be a new MB in the June 2016 comics release. After that … who knows?" A friend of Sirius had a Modesty Blaise concordance and index on his web site some years ago. He's promised to bring it up to date so we can include it in future versions of this torrent.
