Modern Warfare 2 Razor1911 cannot open avi fix (Size: 3.12 MB)
Description
Nomenclature:
* -> matches zero or more characters ---------------------------------------------- Error: Cannot open avi Cause: Unknown Literature: It turned out that the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 release by Razor1911 spitted out the "Cannot open avi" error on Windows XP. The solution was to use the simpack and the decryption key found in setup.dat in the release DVD 1 of the game. The keys: SimPack.exe x -g10182 -k1CA3A685F1CF0276FC06BF9AEF9DD8AF SimPack.exe x -g10183 -k0E8D42BA0CF6C5A7FA59FEB95394B1C6 A windows batch script was then written to "automate" (not fully) the installation. Steps to follow: 1. The only thing you have to do is to launch the install.bat found in the archive you downloaded(obviously, you have to extract all the files in the archive before launching install.bat) and specify the locations of the required files. You have to do it 2 or 3 times. The *.sid files are found in DVD1 and DVD2. 2. Type in the directory where you want to install the game. For e.g. C:MW2 The directory will be created for you. 3. A SimPack window will appear with this information: To continue unpacking, file 'modern warfare 2_disk1_0.sid' is required from disc 1 Click on the icon to the right of the text box to browse the file. You will consequently need to specify some more files as the installation proceeds. The script will show this line: SCRIPT: I can not find file 'GcfFiles.dat' It's normal. Installation will continue. 4. When the installation completes, place the crack in the installation directory (For e.g. C:MW2 ) It is recommended to use the Skidrow crack as the Razor1911 crack has been found to crash the game. 5. Finally execute iw4sp.exe found in the installation directory to launch the game. Sharing Widget |
