Mister T [DVD] - Complete Animated Series [Extremlym]
Back in the 80's Mr. T could do no wrong. He had his own television show, cereal, action figure, comic book, shrinky dinks, stickers, record...I mean the man had his own Chiapet for fucks sake! If that doesn't scream idol of millions then I don't know what does. When I was a kid I even rocked some A-Team curtains complete with T arms crossed, blinged out and ready to put the hurt on any fool that dared pity him. In fact in the 80's according to numerous websites (which never lie or embellish things) Mr. T woke a kid out of a coma! Which pretty much makes him some sort of Patron Saint of Badassedness. Anyway the most logical thing for Mr. T to have was his own cartoon show, which he did called (suprise, suprise) Mister T. Like most cartoons in the 70's/early 80's Mister T used the Scooby Doo model (ala Jabberjaw, Captain Caveman, Speed Buggy etc.) in that Mr. T owned a gym where professional gymnasts trained and drove them around in a van solving mysteries and learning valuable life lessons. Sounds pretty stupid I know, but as a kid for some reason I was addicted to this show. No doubt if I watched an episode now it would be one of those things that I would be embarrassed of to no end (I mean it has a bulldog with a mohawk in it!), but at the ripe age of five I soaked up both the A-team and the Mister T cartoon like there was no tomorrow. Besides I was five what did I know, my favorite food was Fruit Rollups. Sure the animation is a little...meh, the storylines are formulaic at best, and the theme songs only lyrics are, "miSTER T"; but when I see Mr. T swinging that alligator in the air it takes me back to a moment in time when I was a little kid sitting on a bean bag chair spooning some sugary cereal in my mouth on a Sunday morning! @ Extremlym Sharing Widget |
