MidniteMotel (Size: 7.9 MB)
DescriptionWith the sole exception of Super Snake, Midnite Motel may be the most professional Game Maker game ever made. The graphics are commercial quality and original, not some ripped work. The music and some sounds are also original, which just shows how much talent these creators have. But my main reason for liking this game so much is the atmosphere of it all. As if every notch of it was carefully planned beforehand. The whole basement-like feel and the superb level design make this a game highly worth playing. There are five floors, each with its own background and enemies ranging from red snares to scary looking jazz men. Plus, there are bonus levels where extra points are given. But still there are some drags about the game, like how there are only two songs in the entire game, one for the levels and one for the main menu. They are all midtempo jazz, suitable for a perfect basement feel, but it can get repetitive in the long run. Another thing is that it is way too difficult. Just a little crash into the enemy and you lose a life and with a total of three lives it can get dull to start all over, especially if you've reached far. But overall, I have to say that the game is very original and is a must download for all those who are sick of cheap Mario clones with ripped graphics. You can see the game is highly worked on considering it's made with Game Maker version 3.3, and there are no obvious bugs to speak of. What more can you possibly ask for? An original, clever, dramatic, and well-paced game for your stressful needs! Sharing Widget |
