Description
MICROSOFT VISUAL C++ REDISTRIBUTABLE PACKAGES [32-BIT (x86) & 64-BIT (x64)] 2005 2008 2010 2012 2013 SP1 ATL MFC SECURITY UPDATES
Visual C++ Redistributable packages are collections of librairies required for third-party programs that you install in your computer and which depend upon those librairies to run properly. They are NOT required by Windows itself but only for other programs you install in your computer. This torrent contains both ALL current Visual C++ redistributables packages required for computers running either 32-Bit or 64-Bit versions of either Windows Vista (all releases) or Windows 7 (all releases), including all ATL security updates. Files updated in August, 16th, 2014. All files are originals and were pulled from the Microsoft website itself. Installation Instructions: A) For Computers running 32-Bit versions of Windows Vista or 7: Install sequentially, from 01 to 13, each package contained in the sub-folder "32-Bit (x86) English". It is important to reboot your machine after EACH installation, meaning you will have to reboot your machine 13 times !!! DO NOT TRY TO INSTALL NONE OF THE 64-BIT (x64) PACKAGES AS YOUR MACHINE DOES NOT REQUIRE THEM !!! B) For Computers running 64-Bit versions of Windows Vista or 7: Computers running 64-Bit versions of Windows also have programs installed either compiled originally as 32-Bit instructions [ and usually these programs are installed by default in the folder "c:Program Files (x86)" ] and/or have programs compiled as 64-Bit with parts of the program code compiled as 32-Bit instructions! Because of this, you should install ALL Visual C++ packages (both 32-Bit and 64-Bit), regardless of having or not 32-Bit programs installed on your computer. Install sequentially first the 32-Bit and then the 64-Bit version of each package. It is important to reboot your machine after each 32-bit or 64-bit install, meaning you will have to reboot your machine 26 times !!! ----- P.S.: 1) As these packages will add or modify some configuration settings of your computer it is advisable for a perfect install that you turn off all your antivirus and antispyware programs before attempting to install each package. Because of this fact, I strongly suggest that after you download this torrent that you scan all the files included both locally in your own machine and via free online virus scanners (the best one by far is the ESET Online Virus Scanner, the second being the Panda Online Scanner with Karspersky in a distant third place. The Avast Online Scanner is also a good option). 2) With multiple reboots required to finish the installation of Visual C++ redistributables packages, people will sometimes get confused which of all these packages they have just finished installing and because it is very hard to later check which packages are installed on any given machine, I suggest that you write in a piece of paper the name of each package as you install them so as to keep track which ones you have installed (preventing you from leaving a package you may need uninstalled). Finally I wish that you have 1 hour of "fun", courtesy of Microsoft that 10 years after introducing Visual C++ redistributable packages did not yet made a one-package install to accommodate its customers !!!
