Metallica Studio Discography 1983-2011 Vinyl & Guitar Hero Rip


This release is my own encode of various vinyl rip releases, except for Death Magnetic, which is the Guitar Hero III rip. It includes only the studio albums, properly ripped with foobar2000, using the iTunes qaac encoder, properly tagged, artwork included.

I left out S&M and Lulu, as I never was too fond of them (St. Anger dodged the bullet this time, but it was close). Sorry if this here doesn´t meet your expectations as "complete discography" per se, please consider download what´s missing from another place.

This is so far the only version that doesn´t make my ears hurt, the dynamics of the albums range between 10 and 13, so this is pretty close to what music should sound like, even though it´s lossy. Every album include some technical specs, to give a general idea as of why I chose vinyl rips as source for my encode. Simply put, they´re not as heavily compressed in terms of dynamic range as their digital counterparts, aka brickwalled, not to mention clipping and distortion free. Especially from 1996 till now. Period.
