You two are not alone. Being a German-American, I've always been interested to see what book could so provoke my ancestors to such horrid acts of depravity, and where better to look than in the mind of the man who led them there. I've never been worried about being thought a racist, as my best friends are Asian and Afican-American, but I still am surprised how many people shun reading this book only because of that fear. I think more people should read it, to better understand why it happened, so it doesn't happen again.
