Mayone - Primo libro di diversi Capricci - F Tasini, hpschd (2001) [Philidor; FLAC]

Ascanio Mayone (or Maione; he used both spellings) is barely remembered today outside of Naples, but in his time, around the cusp of the 17th century, he was considered an important and innovative composer for the keyboard, a rival of the celebrated Trabucci, and a prominent organist and harpist. His adherence to the Seconda Pratica, sometimes called the Stile Moderno, meant that incurred a lot of criticism for supposed "false harmonies" that worked expressively. No pictures exist of Mayone, and precious little research has been into him, but he was clearly an important figure in the development of the harpsichord and organ.
