At the end of 2010, Marvel Comics revealed the list of ‘Marvel Architects’. These aptly named architects were the writers that Marvel had chosen to build its brand over the next few years. These writers/architects included the big-hitters of the Marvel lineup: Brian Michael Bendis, Matt Fraction, Ed Brubaker, Jonathan Hickman and Jason Aaron.
This past March, Marvel revealed the visual side of their universe remodeling agenda with a list of artist Architects. These artists were picked to shape the look of the Marvel universe and keep Marvel cool and fresh into the new decade. They include: John Romita Jr., Mike Deodato, Stuart Immonen, Salvador Larroca, Humberto Ramos and Mark Bagley.
This September, Marvel’s Architect artists are being featured in a series of variant covers featuring your favorite Marvel characters! Each cover features the main character or team from the comic on a plain white background similar to what DC Comics did earlier this year.
