Just in case you never got an answer to your question... you can just plug kindle into computer, and dump your mobi files into the right file on the kindle. I use Calibre (free software), and upload books into calibre, then click 'send to device' when the reader is plugged in. There's great youtube vids showing you each and every step of both methods, though. Good luck!
