Op het Zweedse eiland Gotland wordt vastgesteld dat twee mensen
waarschijnlijk zijn overleden aan de vogelpest.
Op vrijwel hetzelfde moment wordt politie-inspecteur
Maria Wern geconfronteerd met een moordzaak.
Het onderzoek wijst uit dat de vermoorde man zieke vogels
en daarmee het vogelpestvirus - naar Gotland heeft gebracht.
De ziekte verspreidt zich snel en ook Maria's zoon Emil raakt besmet.
De artsen staan met de handen in het haar en al gauw
is heel Gotland in rep er roer.
Onder de wanhopige eilandbewoners breken zelfs flinke rellen uit...

Story

On the Swedish island of Gotland is found that two people are probably
