Madetoja - Sym #2 - P Sakari, Iceland SO (1992) [Philidor; FLAC]

Several years before Leevi Madetoja wrote his elegrant, Neo-Classical Third Symphony, he wrote a brooding, large-limbed Second. Its four movements were intended to express his pessimistic feelings on life: Beauty, Nature, War, and Resignation. The critics and public hailed it, though it did set expectations which Madetoja, an ever-evolving musician, necessarily failed to meet as his style changed.

Transfers are made at 768 kBits/s, directly from the disc.
