If a better-sounding version becomes commercially available, I encourage you to trash this and buy that to support the artist. Unfortunately, this event looks unlikely (download and hear for yourself!). I found this album in pretty stellar condition at my local Salvation Army, so I decided to digitize it. It sounds very nice compared to some of the indifferently pressed albums of this era. I recorded it into Audacity 2.0.5 at 48kHz/16bit and have included the raw files from this rip as 'bonus files' in this torrent in case someone out there prefers the raw, crackly sound. It has very little noise, and a quick clean-up was mostly done with a light pop filter (NOT destructive noise-reduction!) in Adobe Audition CC and a filter to remove sub-sonic rumble. A few more clicks/pops were removed manually and some were left because they could not be removed safely. Fades were then added in Audacity 2.0.5 and the album was split into tracks. This is an interesting record as it seems almost every other track has a strange mono-esque feel, but it is stronger in the right channel while slightly weaker in the left. I could have edited this so that the 'mono' felt more on-center, but I chose to leave it as-is so that the vinyl could speak for itself. Is this the definitive? Probably not - transfers from the original tapes would be nice. But this is the best as of yet.
