Description
This collects the group's rough-hewn, danceable onda grupera material from Columbia Records between 1983 and 1986. While completists will enjoy hearing Gustavo Ángel's prepubescent voice on ballad "Copa Rota," (Broken Glass) it's easy to see why the group didn't take off right away. The occasionally awkward rhythm section and raw vocals make the group sound more like talented neighborhood kids than future stars. Still, there are glimpses of what is to come in "Por Ella Lloramos Los Dos," (Both of Us Cry For Her) a vague but sentimental organ-fueled ballad written by keyboardist Adolfo Angel. Another revelation is that there existed a time when the group didn't take itself so seriously, as evidenced on "Pero No." (But It's Not So) Sharing Widget |
