A very good show overall, although a feeling of sloppiness is especially evidentin Jimmy's playing. The great late J. J. Jackson had opened that evening: "Good evening! My name is J. J. Jackson of KWLOS. We're all here to welcome back to the LA area ... Led Zeppelin!" After a rather brilliant opening section, Dazed And Confused suffers from Jimmy playing badly out of time with the rhythm section during the improvisations, and he doesn't correct it either! This makes for a jerky and uneasy listening experience. The closer is excellent and although The Crunge jam in Whole Lotta Love is good and the most complete version ever performed, Jimmy is lost and it shows! Licking Stick follows and is driven by the rhythm section into the Theremin solo which, as always, starts Jones amazing bass and Bonham's splendid drumming. A very good version of Heartbreaker closes the show ("Children Of The Sun! Good night!"). Beside that, this is a glorious return to the LA and the band was on! Plant: "This is the place, this is the one. There are the last three gigs on our American tour and so we intend them to be something of a high point for us. Obviously, we don't achieve that without a little bit of a vibe, that I can already feel, and a few smiles." 1975.03.25 Comments: A really great show. "Last night we had a really good time. We had a great concert. It was one of the finest we've had in California for a long time!" said Plant as the band climbed the stage. Robert is powerful and the band rocks! Bonham's drumming is awesome throughout, and it really makes an impact during the first few numbers when the band plows through them with minimum pauses in between. No Quarter and Dazed And Confused are two great versions with lots of great improvisation. The jazzy groove of No Quarter, in particular, is spectacular.Trampled Underfoot was dedicated to the groupies as well: "All the good ladies of America who've helped us get rid of the blues from time to time on the road...". Jimmy's solo in Stairway To Heaven is excellent. 1975.03.27 Comments: The third and final night at the Forum and also the last show of the 1975 US Tour. A very good show, although Robert's voice alternates between sounding great and being really irritating. Linda Lovelace, a well-known Deep Throat star introduced the show. No Quarter is simply amazing, one of the best versions I have ever heard, and Dazed And Confused has some really great moments in the middle. It is also the longest version of this song, clocks at 46 minutes! This is the third out of three times Since I've Been Loving You was played in 1975. The guitar solo in Stairway To Heaven is amazing, and the Theremin section of Whole Lotta Love has some excellent bass and drum interplay while Robert screams. Related Torrents
