Khamsa (2008) (English subs)

Khamsa tells the story of an 11 year old Tunisian Gypsy who runs away from foster care to find his roots in the community in which he was born. There he finds comfort, friendship, danger and brutality...

This is a film that won accolades when it premièred at the Locarno Film Festival in Switzerland and the the Toronto Film Fest. It won the hearts of viewers and critics alike when broadcast on German television (under the title “Die Hand Fatimas”). But its only DVD releases have been in France and the Netherlands, never with English subtitles.

So, for those non-francophones among us, here's your chance to appreciate it :-)
