"Kiss a Girl" is the title of a song co-written and recorded by Australian country music singer Keith Urban. The song is the second single from his fifth studio album, Defying Gravity. It was released digitally on March 10, 2009, and it made its debut on the Hot Country Songs charts at #29. The song peaked at #16 on the Hot 100, making it his highest peak on the chart and only top 20 to date.

The song was performed live by Urban and eventual "Idol" winner Kris Allen during the finale of eighth season of American Idol on May 20, 2009.

Defying Gravity! is the title of the fifth studio album by Australian country music artist Keith Urban. It was released on March 31, 2009 on Capitol Records. The album's lead-off single is "Sweet Thing", which reached the top of the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts in March 2009. "Kiss a Girl" was released on March 7, 2009 as the second single. A bonus track ("Call My Name"), originally a Third Day song, was released through iTunes as parts of the countdown. Another bonus track ("Going Crazy World") was released through rhapsody.

The album became Keith's first number one on the Billboard 200 (breaking the record of 34 years, Olivia Newton-John as the last Australian to make it done) , selling 171,000 copies in its first week of release.
