Junjou Romantica Complete (24 episodes, seasons 1 & 2) (Size: 3.9 GB)
Description
This contains the full 24 episodes (seasons 1 and 2) of the Manga
adapted Anime series "Junjou Romantica" (or "Junjo Romanchika"). The spoken language is in Japanese with hard-coded English subtitles. While I'm not normally into this sort of material, it is very well presented, and it got me hooked. Before you view even the first episode, be ready to spend an entire 10-12 hours to watch these. While the material is controversial, especially in the west, it is well presented. At the end of the 24th episode it appears everything has been wrapped up, showing that the relationships reached some stability and mutual understanding. A third season would be nice, but unneeded. Leaving unanswered questions isn't always a bad thing in stories. It would be unlikely that this series would air in the USA without being censored, if at all. The material would probably scare most USA stations away-- that dealing with intimate relationships between older and younger men with as many as 17 year age difference (18 & 35)-- and often showing the younger to be the one pushing for the relationship relationship than the older (with one exception, which the first few episodes deals with). Where there is sex, you only see faces, and it isn't that often. Though mostly it is hinted that sex has taken place, the act is rarely shown (if one such scene existed in a movie in the USA, it would get a PG-13 rating). Don't worry Australian friends, there's nothing in this series that would get you into trouble should the feds find it on your computer (speaking of which, an Australian is in the second season). These are love stories, and there are some lessons to be learned from the failures and successes of these people. The most important of which is to listen, be open, be patient, and assume your assumptions are probably wrong. If there is a series or movie you like, you should always buy the DVDs to encourage the production of more works, otherwise artists and production companies will have no incentive to continue. This series is suitable for 15+ year olds, though, due to the presence of homosexuality/gay relationships, prejudice would give it a R/Mature Audiences rating. If you let your kids watch South Park, this series is just fine. This isn't porn or soft porn. It's a story of love and loss between several couples in a world not fully accepting of such a union.
