Johnny Quick in More Fun Comics 071-107

Johnny Quick was an interesting one ... DC already had a speedster in the Golden Age Flash, but they needed more stories from More Fun Comics, so Johnny Quick was born. His schtick was a mathematical formula that he chanted almost as a mantra, which gave him super speed. He appeared in More Fun from issue 71-107 (collected here), Adventure Comics, and had some appearances in the JSA. Eventually he faded from the scene for a time, but he has made later appearances in the JSA and the Flash, where it was eventually shown that, like all other Speedsters, he got his powers from the Speed Force.
