Released: June 2012 Label: Solar Records Format : Flac  John Coltrane’s previously unissued 1961 performance at the Newport (This is not from the '61 Newport Jazz Festival as due to problems the year before, the festival wasn't allowed to go ahead that year.) . At the time, his group consisted of a quintet with Trane as the only horn, plus piano, two basses, and drums. Added as a bonus is another complete performance from the same year, recorded in Helsinki, Finland, during the tour on which Eric Dolphy joined the group.  John Coltrane Newport 1966.
