Description
Raise the Gipper! is a political satire, written by John Barnes.
At the August 2012 Republican National Convention in Tampa, Republican delegates are in open mutiny against their party's own nominee, and many of the pledged delegates are refusing to vote for Mitt Romney on the first ballot, because of three important reasons: 1) they don't feel he adequately represents their conservative views, 2) they feel that a dull gazillionaire has no real chance in November, 3) they'd rather work at an old folks home cleaning underwear by chewing it. Then Dr. Bayle Brazenydol, political guru deluxe and extreme, presents them with an alternative ... their dream candidate ... a man who is perfectly what they want except for three little problems: 1) The candidate has already had two terms as president 2) The candidate happens to be very, very dead 3) Dr. Brazenydol himself is secretly controlled by a monstrous alien bent on taking over the Earth and devouring every living thing. These are based on retail-quality books or other quality sources, and given a uniform look-and-feel by hand, and verified against the ePub standard. IMPORTANT: If you like a book, please support the author by buying the book. I recommend buying the real, dead-tree version and not the eBook. Q: Why are you doing this? A: I started doing this because I was dismayed at the quality of eBooks I could find, just getting them to a condition where it didn't hurt to read them. As I started spending some time on this, I thought that I could share my hard work with others. Q: Help! The book won't read on my reader! A: Some readers are not fully compliant with the ePub standard. The main cause for this that I have seen so far, is readers that use Adobe ADE (such as Sony PRS readers). ADE has a maximum limit for how large the internal files of an ePub can be. The easiest way to fix this, is to use Calibre to perform a conversion from ePub to ePub; this will split the internal files to smaller chunks (and add a whole lot of unncessary formating to the files). Q: My reader only supports format , why are you only releasing in ePub? ePub is a nice and open format, which makes it easy to work with. If you need another format, I suggest using Calibre to convert to the format you need. Sharing Widget |
