Yes, I do the split the way you described it, it's very easy, but I don't speak English and used the wrong words. Thanks!
If I may add to discussion, very common for one single flac file which contains all music tracks. Then the person who downloads can load the .cue file to the software of choice. As max says, in foobar 2000 load the .cue file and all tracks will appear with time info to convert into mp3, etc. Medieval cue splitter is another useful program to split, especially "ape" files. Personally, I like Foobar because it shows the bitrate the flac file was encoded at. You also get the "source" flac, which is easier for archival purposes. Cheers!
I agree completely ... with foobar2000 you can also install additional components to play SACD's or the old shn codec or all the apple music files...
Thank you very much! No, it's no problem to transfer the single file, but I just was wondering why an uploader chooses to do this. I just wanted to know the reason.
It's no need to split or transfer - if you use foobar2000 or VLC for example - load the cue file (NOT the flac file) -> split is done
Hello master Maxblues, I want to ask you, why does an uploader choose to upload as a single flac file? Is it less work? Easier to upload? Thank you!
It's no difference to play - just read the included textfile. Use the right player - if you have questions - send me pm. And yes, you can spare some time by using specific audio checkers.
