Even though you can pick this update up over-the-air using the Software Update feature found within the Settings app, we always recommend connecting to iTunes and going about it the traditional way. If you absolutely cannot connect to a PC or Mac, then so be it, but in our own experience, it seems that docked updating is less temperamental, or likely to throw up problems later in the day.
-----How to restore with this file?------
Back up your iOS device to iTunes, iCloud, or both before proceeding!
You can use ifunbox to backup your apps incase u got problems with itunes


1. Download this iOS 8 IPSW files for your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, the files come from Apple, save the .ipsw somewhere easy to find like the desktop

2. Get iTunes 11.1 (the latest one) for Mac OS X or Windows and install it

3.Connect your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to the computer with USB, then launch iTunes

4.Select the device in iTunes and go to the “Summary” tab
Option+Click on “Restore” for Mac users, Alt+Click for Windows users (or Shift+Click for older iTunes versions)

5. Locate the IPSW you downloaded in step 1 and select it
iTunes will pop-up an alert saying the device will be updated to iOS 8.0 and verify with Apple, choose “Restore”

Let iTunes complete the installation, the iPhone/iPad/iPod touch will automatically reboot when finished
That’s it, you’ll be up and running iOS 8 in no time.
