TRAMA:

Jim Friedman è un padre single di tre figlie, vedovo, che da poco ha deciso di provare ad incontrare altre donne. Un amico gli organizza un appuntamento al buio con Lauren Reynolds, madre separata di due bambini. Il loro incontro è un disastro: i due non si piacciono ed entrambi si convincono che sia stata una cattiva idea provare ad incontrare nuove persone. Si reincontrano casualmente in un supermercato, dove si scambiano consigli per compere per i rispettivi figli, e la commessa scambia le rispettive carte di credito. Quando Jim, in seguito, si reca a casa di Lauren per riavere la sua carta, scopre che Jen, miglior amica di Lauren, ha appena litigato con il suo fidanzato, Dick, l'uomo per il quale lavora Jim, rinunciando ad un viaggio romantico per famiglie in Africa con lui. Sia Lauren che Jim hanno la stessa idea: chiedere a Dick, anche lui genitore single, di rivendere loro i suoi biglietti. I due non scoprono di stare per effettuare la stessa vacanza finché non si reincontano in Sudafrica.
Qui loro e le loro famiglie hanno modo di conoscersi meglio, e tra Jim e Lauren sembra nascere un nuovo amore. Tuttavia, Jim non si sente ancora pronto ad una nuova relazione e, ritornati in patria, ritornano alle rispettive vite. Presto però Jim cambierà idea, rendendosi conto di essere davvero innamorato, e i due potranno quindi stare insieme, con anche l'approvazione dei rispettivi figli.

STORYLINE:

After a blind date gone horribly wrong, Jim and Lauren agree they never, ever want to see each other again. Well, that's all about to change when the two find themselves and their respective families (including children) all stuck together in one suite at an African Safari vacation spot.
