In The Miso Soup KINDLE MOBI by Ryu Murakami H.A

Another strange and wonderful novel by the strange and wonderful Ryu Murakami! In the Miso Soup is violent, frightening, yet oddly intriguing in it's off kilter plot that really addresses the whole concept of "lost in translation". The tale begins just before New Year, and the American in the novel, Frank -a serial killer - has come to Japan simply because he once tasted Miso soup -- and as all serial killers tend to do, to kill. He wants to see the "seedier" side of Tokyo, so hires the guide, Kenji, to show him around the "hostess" bars and love motels of the red light Kabukichō area, but meeting the shallow denizens who tend to congregate in any area like that anywhere in the world only fires his fury, and his killing spree begins before the startled and building terror of Kenji, who is goaded to stay with him in fear of both his own life and that of his young girlfriend, Jun. It is, as all Ryu Murakami novels, a descent into madness, and a perpetual feeling of dread that the reader can almost taste, but played out against and among, as only this master writer can do, the seemingly most ordinary circumstances and people.
